The Physics Learning Research List (PhysLrnR) is an email listserv for discussions on research about the teaching and learning of physics. It was established to support the community of researchers in the field known as Physics Education Research (PER). The listserv focuses on issues relating to PER, including the history and philosophical foundations of PER, practical aspects and challenges of methods of research in PER, discussions of research findings, implications of the findings of PER for the learning and teaching of physics, political policy and social impacts on PER and the teaching of physics, positions available and of possible interest to the PER community, and announcements of upcoming events of interest to the PER community. The list is not moderated and subscription is open.

Help recruiting students for research study about failure in science

PER colleagues:

Our research team has developed a survey to capture undergraduate science students' ideas about failure in science and failure in learning science. We spent the last year developing survey items through work in the literature and collecting data from students with these items. Our next step is to conduct a large-scale data collection effort to examine the functioning of our survey. We hope that you may be able and willing to help us recruit students from your undergraduate science courses.

We could use your help to:
*Advertise our study to your students (we will provide a posting to include in your LMS).
*Offer incentive for participation (course credit or extra credit).

To find more information about the project please check out our website (https://www.thescienceoffailure.org/failure-survey-development) where you can sign up to have your course participate and/or participate as an expert yourself. We greatly appreciate your help, as this survey development could not happen without your support! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Emily Holt, University of Northern Colorado
Sandhya Krishnan, University of Arkansas Little Rock
Brooke Nolan, Emory University Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing
