This interactive homework problem requires the student to determine the distance a projectile will travel when thrown off a cliff with a given initial velocity. It provides explicit help in differentiating the vertical and horizontal components of motion, then determining the correct application of formulas. The problem is accompanied by a sequence of questions designed to encourage critical thinking and conceptual analysis before dealing with the mathematics.
