This java applet illustrates the superposition principle of waves. Users can control the frequency, velocity, amplitude, and phase of the waves. The frequencies of the waves can be different, illustrating beats. The applet includes a short description of the physics and instructions on how to run the simulation. It is also connected to a discussion board for users to provide comments and ask questions.
