This web site uses a simulation of masses sliding along adjustable tracks to help students better understand and apply 1D kinematics. Position, velocity, and acceleration graphs, as well as the simulation of the objects, are used to represent the motion. Track heights, initial positions, and initial velocities can be adjusted to create motion as specified by kinematic graphs.

These learning activities are based on physics education research and curriculum development at the University of Washington. This is a web-based version of the classic Graphs and Tracks program originally made available through Physics Academic Software.
