This simulation illustrates the addition of two waves, either transverse and/or longitudinal. The user can interactively change a wide range of parameters of the interfering waves: speed, wavelength, frequency, and amplitude. The simulation shows interference, beats, standing waves, the vertical position, velocity, or acceleration of a point on either wave, and formulas describing the waves mathematically.
