Introductory Mechanics Online
Mar 01, 2012 - May 22, 2012
MIT professor David Pritchard and his education research group, RELATE have just opened an online course in Introductory Newtonian Mechanics. The course is free and does not require a textbook. Participants can join immediately. The course runs through May 22, 2012. Individuals who complete the course will receive a letter of completion; those who only want to browse are also welcome.
The course is aimed primarily at self-motivated learners, including excellent high school or community college students who want to prepare for an advanced standing exam or an advanced mechanics course. Teachers who want to brush up and/or learn our problem solving pedagogy are also welcome. The letter of completion will inform participants about both their level of skill on tests and their level of participation.
